A picnic area, walking and exercise trails and a StoryWalk give visitors a chance to enjoy nature while walking the grounds in this park. The full-size canal boat replica takes you back in time to when mules pulled the laden boats along the canal. The Museum’s displays include a working model of a canal lock along with many other exhibits relating Warren County’s history including Washington’s organ and piano industry, Lenape culture and life, Thomas Edison’s Portland Cement Company, the Easton-Washington Traction Company, America’s first airport dedicated to the auto giro, the Rockport train wreck, the Phillipsburg Airport, and the Eckle Age of Steam Museum.

Public access is provided via a hiking trail on the preserve, accessible on Stillwater Road. The trail system will connect to the state’s Paulinskill Valley Trail to the west

Johnsonburg is a year round camp and retreat center offering space for groups to gather and individuals to recreate and renew. High and low ropes courses, teambuilding challenges, zipline, climbing wall, boating and kayaking on the lake, swimming pool, trails and archery all provide numerous recreational opportunities. In addition, we serve made- from-scratch food in the beautiful dining hall, perfect for gatherings of all kinds. 8 weeks of summer programming allow children and youth to experience all of this and more, in a fun outdoor setting.
For most of its 27 miles, the trail passes through rural landscapes, northern deciduous forests and wetlands, and small towns in Warren and Sussex Counties. The trail cuts under the majestic Hainseburg viaduct, once part of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. The trail has a wide, firm cinder base suitable for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.
