This new Farm Market will run every 2nd & 4th Sunday, June 14 to October 25, on the beautiful grounds of Rutherfurd Hall. In addition to vegetables, pork, beef, eggs, chicken from GrowingDirt.com, co-vendors on opening day include:
- FatCaps Mushrooms and produce
- Sparta Mountain Farms (hot sauces, salsa, bbq sauce, jams & jellies, etc.)
- Tranquility Store - baked sweet treats and quick breads & more
- Valley Fall Farm- say hello to Roman, the King of garlic & honey
- Kilhaney's Pickles
Future dates will have other farmers/vendors, musicians and food trucks.
This location (and Allamuchy in general) is a great launching point for families looking to enjoy the great outdoors. Just a few steps from the market are hiking/biking/riding trails, state parks, wonderful cycling opportunities in the area (including Shades of Death Road) or just take a great Sunday drive in the country. There are also other agritourism opportunities in the area, and many eating establishments.
Rutherfurd Hall
Historic mansion visited by FDR open for tours every Wednesday at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Concerts are free to the public with a recommended donation of $10, Tea & Talk lecture series, Film Night, summer camps and more.
