Past, Present and Future of Lake Hopatcong presented by the Hackettstown Historical Society

Martin Kane, author of "Hopatcong : A Century of Memories," and Lake Hopatcong historian, will give a presentation on Lake Hopatcong including its past, present, and future. From summer homes to the stars, including Lotta Crabtree, it was the refuge of those seeking to escape the Summer heat of NYC. It also was the home to Bertrand Island Amusement Park, where Hackettstown's own Bette Cooper, won the title of Miss Bertrand Island in the Summer of 1937, later becoming Miss America, 1937.
