Local Vineyards Hold Wine & Art Show

There are connoisseurs of fine wine and connoisseurs of fine art. Visit Vintage North Jersey member wineries on this coming weekend, March 11 and 12, and you can be a connoisseur of both!  Each winery will display works of local artists and will offer wine tastings.

Vintage North Jersey is a consortium of wineries stretching along the Delaware River Valley. Starting in Sussex County this weekend, you can be your own artist as you paint a wine glass at Cava Winery and view works by budding artists from local high schools.

In Warren County, Brook Hollow Winery will have photographer and owner of Lakota Wolf Preserve Jim Stein at the winery both Saturday and Sunday. Jim will have his wolf photos on display for viewing and sale, with 100% of all sales going directly to Lakota Wolf Preserve.

Four Sisters Winery features Jeffrey McKeever, best known for his book covers, including for John Steinbeck, Mickey Spillane, Dashiell Hammett and many more.  Working in oil, pen and ink, he is an accomplished artist of pet portraits, landscapes, wildlife and animals native to Africa.

Villa Milagro Vineyards will offer a potpourri of wildlife, butterfly, landscape and architectural photographs along with landscape paintings. Local artists Ed Norman, Maria Covino-Radus, Lewis Whittaker, Steven Russell, and Gary Kane will display and be present for you to meet. Wine tasting and a glass of wine to enjoy as you meet the artists is included.

In Hunterdon County, stop by Beneduce Vineyards to meet Trini, a veteran of their tasting room, who is also an artist.  She will display a portfolio of oil, watercolor, ink and pencil works, many of them for sale.  Enjoy wine tasting by their cozy indoor fireplace as you view her works.

Slightly south, visit Unionville Vineyards for an exhibit by Princeton based Studio Yu, inspired by the themes of love and spring, presented by two international artists.  You can meet the artists this weekend as well as see their work through March 31 on exhibit at the winery.

Old York cellars will feature members of the Hunterdon Watercolor Society painting live.  Joanne Bodner, Evelyn Voget, Rosanna Hunt, and Lisa Peters will share their personal painting processes.  Grab a glass of wine and witness art in the making.

In Mercer County,  Hopewell Valley Vineyards will celebrate cross cultural artistic expression with works from Studio Yu.  In addition to displayed works, artists will paint on site in Hopewell’s 75 acres vineyard where you can join them with a glass of wine to chat, observe and learn.

Terhune Orchards and Vineyards will feature work of artists from the Princeton Art School, Art Collaborations and from Artists at the Station.  In addition to displays on Sunday, March 12, local artists will be painting en plein air all over the farm. Come chat with them as they work at their easels.  Join our Artists Reception in the new Wine Barn, Sunday March 12, 4pm-5pm.
