"Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook" Launches CSC Season Sept. 16

(HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) -- Centenary Stage Company’s 2017-18 Season Curtain Up! event features the “earth moving” Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook on Saturday, September 16 at 8pm in the Lackland Performing Arts Center.

Suzanne O. Davis embodies Carole King, recreating the sound and vibe of a 1970s Carole King concert. Following her legendary album, Tapestry not only presents the record-breaking Grammy winning album of the same name, but is a retrospective of the iconic songwriting team of Goffin and King. The prolific team wrote chart – topping hits for such artists as Aretha Franklin, Bobby Vee, The Beatles, James Taylor, the Drifters, Donny Osmond and, of course, King, whose hits continued into the '70s.

Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook has performed to sold out audiences across the United States and Canada. Davis notes, “The band and I feel [the love of Carole King] from the audience within the first song… When I play and sing this music at the piano, I feel like I’ve really found my spot… The audience seems to want to go with me on this musical journey during these concerts. I’ve waited several years to be able to have the time to put this show together, and the time is right, and the time is now.”

Tickets for Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook are $35 for the orchestra and $30 for the balcony in advance. Ticket prices increase $5 the day of the performance.

Centenary Stage Company’s Curtain Up! event Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook is sponsored by Heath Village and Fulton Bank of New Jersey.
