February Events at Rutherfurd Hall

Rutherfurd Hall, the cultural center and museum in Allamuchy Township, invites you to visit in February for tours and special events.

Tours are available every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. Private group and/or bus tours are available for groups more than 15 people.

Meanwhile, there is a full roster of events taking place throughout the month at Rutherfurd Hall, including:

February 9: Allamuchy Crafters and Artisan Fair. Join us for a one of a kind shopping experience! Local artists and crafters will be selling their work to the public at the historic Rutherfurd Hall. Diverse vendors to make your shopping experience unique!

February 15: Stand Up Comedy Show.  New York and New Jersey comedians perform hilarious stand-up comedy, featuring national headliner and Last Comic Standing Semi-Finalist Mike Gaffney. Doors open at 7 p.m.;  the show starts at 8 p.m. $25 per person, Cash Bar available. 21 and older, please.

February 17: Live Jazz at Rutherfurd Hall with David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Eternity Band Dixieland Jazz. Inspired by the noble jazz pioneers Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton and their colleagues, David Ostwald’s Louis Armstrong Eternity Band (pictured above) breathes life and passion into America’s own great art form. 3-5 p.m. Tickets $30 in  advance, $35 at the door.

February 20: Mantra Meditation with Jean Marie, Fostering the Journey. Optional half hour of Gentle Yoga before at 5:50 p.m., followed by the meditation 6:30-7:30 p.m. $15 for Mediation and $7 for Yoga.

February 21: Adult Wine and Paint Night (BYOB). Calling aspiring artists and wine lovers! Bring a bottle of wine and join us for this night of creativity and inspiration. Paint a Winter Cardinal. 7-9 p.m. $25.

February 27: Centenary University Lecture "The Climate Change in New Jersey" with Dr. Krassi Lazarova. Free lecture with Dr. Lazarova, an Assistant Professor of  Physics at Centenary University. Dr. Lazarova will address the causes of climate change and the effects we will encounter with a focus on New Jersey. The ways to adapt or mitigate will also be discussed. Sponsored by the House of the Good Shepherd. 7 p.m.

Owned and managed by the Allamuchy Township Board of Educationl, Rutherfurd Hall provides educational and enrichment opportunities for the residents of Allamuchy and the surrounding communities. Rutherfurd Hall is sustained through a combination of public funding, New Jersey Historical Commission grants, foundation support, corporate and individual donations, volunteers and event-based fundraising. Additional operating revenues are obtained through an active rental program, public programs for a nominal fee and other earned income programs.

Rutherfurd Hall is working towards its goal of becoming a self-sufficient enterprise that protects and preserves its historical, cultural, and architectural integrity, while providing educational and enrichment opportunities for the residents of Allamuchy and the surrounding communities.
