"The Earth is what we all have in common"- Wendell Berry.

A published man of poetry, fiction and essays, Berry's best known work titled “The Unsettling of America,” argued that responsible, small-scale agriculture is essential to the preservation of the land and the culture. Living disconnected from modern life, Berry resides in Kentucky in a county of less than 100 people with no computer, cell phone or answering machine.

As we approach the 2021 Earth Day and look back on the past year, there's been no shortage of ups and downs. Some of us may have taken up Wendell Berry's way of life, disconnected from it all and found the connection we were seeking. Perhaps you can find a connection at Bread Lock Park, where Michael Muckle snapped the photo above earlier this week.

Our Warren County Wanderings issue this week has several earthly events including a river clean up hosted by Musconetcong Watershed Association, Household Hazardous Waste Collection for county residents, a yard sale hosted by the Blair Women's Club and UACNJ's astronomy presentation. As the spring and summer come into full swing, look for a virtual run hosted by MWA and the 11th annual Bi-State Shad Fishing Contest.

Live music is perking up, too, so scroll down and Happy Wanderings!
