The choose-and-cut season here in the Christmas Tree Belt (that's Warren County, where the soils and climate make for the best Christmas trees) got off to a roaring start over the Thanksgiving weekend. You won't want to delay and miss out, so click here for Warren County members of the New Jersey Christmas Tree Growers Association and find a place to make family memories. A Christmas Carol - CSC Family Holiday Spectacular

Centenary Stage Company rings in the Holiday Season with a brand-new adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol by Stephen Temperley. Recapture the spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas with this timeless and ghostly Dickens classic featuring all the favorite characters—Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet-to-come—and, of course, the curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge. Performances run through December 13 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center, with a Special Talkback with playwright Stephen Temperley and the creative team behind the show this Sunday, Dec. 6 after the 2pm performance. Ticket prices range from $15 to $29.50 with discounts available on select performances.

This week's virtual Lawn Concert features traditional and contemporary bluegrass music from Mountain Heritage. The band - Tim Scheetz, guitar; Bruce Rupert, Mandolin; Matt Koch, bass; Mike Terris, banjo & dobro; and Marty Smith, fiddle - has played festivals, concerts, parties, square dances, churches, and shows on TV and radio featuring a wide range of all acoustic music. These virtual concerts are offered in lieu of the annual Lawn Concert Series that was sidelined in the COVID-19 pandemic. The Warren County Cultural and Heritage Division of the Department of Land Preservation, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, invites you to enjoy online concerts by the bands that were scheduled to perform. A FREE drive through light and decoration experience! Remain in your car to see Candy Cane Lane, created by the Hackettstown BID, the Hackettstown Recreation Department, and local businesses. Santa and his elf will greet you at the end of the drive with a goody bag for the kids as well as the adults.
