Starting July 11, 2018 | Explore Warren

Starting July 11, 2018

"Friday the 13th is still better than Monday the whatever." - internet meme of unknown origin

A glance at the photo above may cause one to ponder: "Gee, that looks relaxing... wait, why is her shirt all ripped?" Because, dear Wanderers, this is a screen shot from the original (1980) slasher film, Friday the 13th, shot in and near Warren County's very own Blairstown. And the town certainly knows how to celebrate the occasion! (Photo ops, meet & greets, trolley tours, film screenings, etc.) So much so, it needs its very own special section in this week's newsletter: click here for the lowdown on Friday the 13th events in the Blairstown area. If you go, look for the Explore Warren table near the Blairstown Museum and stop by to say hello!

Now that that base is covered - or if you're just not into that sort of thing - fear not! Below you will find plenty of other opportunities for relaxation and amusement in the coming week. We shouldn't pick favorites, but just to name a few: Countrygate Players premiere Beauty and the Beast (the musical); Stray Cat Lee Rocker puts on a solo show at Centenary Stage; a triathlon takes place at Mountain Lake; it's Canal Day at Waterloo Village; and so much more. Outdoor summer concert series are in full swing, with an especially unique vintage act performing at Shippen Manor on Sunday. We could go on, but please scroll down to see for yourself what inspires YOU to Explore Warren County! Happy Friday the 13th, and Happy Wanderings!
