Starting June 1, 2022 | Explore Warren

Starting June 1, 2022

“The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon”- The 5th Dimension, vocal group of the ‘60s.

Where do we begin? Well, as the photo and quote suggest, let's start with Warren County's first balloon festival of the season, this one launching from the fields at Warren County Community College June 3-5. Fun for the whole family, this three-day event includes arts & crafts, music, food trucks, a car/truck show on Saturday, and a mass hot air balloon launch each evening. Congratulations to Stephanie R. of Washington and Barbara W. of Hackettstown, both of whom visited the Explore Warren table at the Steampunk fair a couple of weeks ago, entered our drawing, and won free admission for four. Hoping they have a blast!

And there is so much more. VonThun Farms, just a wee bit west of the college on Route 57, is having a strawberry festival, so why not do both? The Blairstown area is also a hotbed of activity this weekend (Farmers Market opening day, a concert at Roy’s Hall, Buck Hill Brewery’s anniversary celebration, Mohican Farms’ grand opening); Waterloo Village is hosting a Canal Day; a free outdoor event at Rutherfurd Hall in Allamuchy includes archery, kayaking and canoeing, and is open for tours; a food truck event at Donaldson Farms; and there is STILL more!

As always, keep an eye on the Plan Ahead section. Next week, ParkFest returns to Bread Lock Park. Happy June and Happy Wanderings!
