The last few weeks of summer are flying by, as swiftly as the Great Blue Heron that Kent Sweigert photographed a few days ago in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area in Warren County. The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey weekly free public program is This week's program is: "Galilean Moons" presented by Emily Mailhot, NWJAA. The astronomy presentation begins at 8pm in the lecture hall regardless of the weather, and is followed by stargazing on the observatory's telescopes until 10:30pm, weather permitting, in Jenny Jump State Forest.
