Donaldson Farms is pleased to offer fun and picturesque tours of approximately 25 acres of Black-Oil Sunflowers that are planted throughout our farm during the late summer and early fall! The Black Oil seeds of the sunflower have very thin shells, easy for virtually all seed-eating birds to crack open, and the kernels within have a high fat content, extremely valuable for birds, especially as food during migration and winter. They also attract more of a variety of bird species than use of other seeds. Come enjoy the bloom of acres and acres of sunflowers in and around our farm!
There are several great ways you can enjoy the sunflowers at Donaldson Farms this season. All activities and events are weather and crop dependent. Call the farm at 908-852-9122 or refer to Facebook for latest updates!
Public Sunflower Tours begin this weekend: Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9am, 12pm, & 5pm and Sunday, Sept. 10 at 9am, 12pm & 4pm
Cost: Adults $10, Ages 4-12 $6, 3 years and younger are free
Reservations are not required. NO BUSES. Private Group Tours can be booked weekdays.
Also a $35 Sunset Photography Tour on September 9, meeting at 5pm.
