
Come on a guided walk with an NJ Woodland Steward on the trails as we look for the creatures of the twilight: moths, lightning bugs and bats! Learn about natural bat habitat and why bats are in serious decline. A short informal presentation will precede the hike.
Hike will be limited to 25 participants ages 8 and up. Wear comfortable shoes. Distance is between 2-3 miles over easy to moderate terrain. Preregistration is required. Bug spray is recommended for ticks but PLEASE apply before arriving at the trout hatchery.
Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center
State trout hatchery visitor center offers exhibits and self-guided tour. Hiking trails on wildlife management area. 4000-acre tract is open to hunting and fishing. Pequest River is trout-stocked; angler parking area at Rt. 46 entrance.
