Spring Fling Season Opening at Millbrook Village

Saturday, May 27, 2017 -
10:00am to 3:00pm

Come to Millbrook Village for a free “Spring Fling” event and opening day celebration!

“Millbrook Village gives people the opportunity to step back in time, slow down the pace, and learn about our region’s history while enjoying a day in the park,” said Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Superintendent John J. Donahue.  “Our staff and volunteers from the Millbrook Village Society are looking forward to another summer season full of tours, demonstrations, and special events that are sure to please visitors of all ages.”

During the Spring Fling event, NPS rangers and park volunteers will open the General Store, Hill House, Trauger House, Depue Cabin, and other historic buildings.  Volunteer craftspeople will demonstrate spinning, weaving, woodworking and blacksmithing.  Nineteenth century games and activities for children will also be available.  Bring a picnic lunch or other refeshments and enjoy a relaxing and fun day. No food vendors are expected.

Millbrook Village is located on Old Mine Road in Hardwick, NJ, 12 miles north of Interstate 80 at Exit 1.  Village buildings are open Saturday-Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm and the grounds are open daily during daylight hours.  There is no charge to visit the village.  For more information or directions, call park headquarters between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm at 570-426-2452; visit our website at www.nps.gov/dewa; or follow us on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/DelWaterGapNPS.

Millbrook Village

Millbrook Village is a representation of a late 19th Century rural community, rather than an exact restoration of the original Millbrook that has its origins in an 1832 grist mill that soon was surrounded by other businesses and homes.
