An All-Star Quintet Honoring Bucky Pizzarelli

Sunday, October 8, 2017 -
3:00pm to 5:00pm

Rutherfurd Hall was to kick off its 2017-18 Jazz series with legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, but due to Bucky's sudden illness he will be unable to perform. The event will continue, however, with the following outstanding musicians:

Ed Laub, a master of the 7-string guitar; Bucky's son Martin Pizzarelli on bass; Aaron Weinstein on violin; Tomoko Ohno on piano and Nick Scheuble on percussion.

Tickets: $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

There are three ways to buy tickets: locally at Mama’s Cafe Baci or at Panther Valley Pharmacy; call Rutherfurd Hall at 908-852-1894 Ext 338; or buy online

Pizzarelli is appreciated by swing musicians in particular as the master of the seven-string guitar with a stellar career for more than six decades as “the complete jazz musician.” A fixture in jazz and the studios since the early ‘50s, Bucky has performed and recorded with a list of musicians and singers that reads like a veritable Who's Who of Jazz.

Called “the Groucho of the Violin” by Tony Bennett and “a perfect musician” by Bucky Pizzarelli, Aaron Weinstein “is rapidly establishing himself as one of his instrument’s rare jazz masters.” - (Don Heckman, International Review of Music).
