
Join the knowledgeable staff and volunteers at the Pequest Natural Resource Education Center and learn some fishing basics. Staff will talk about the history and use of the hatchery, safety and ethics of fishing. They will go over equipment and how it is used. After the discussion, participants will practice casting before heading to the pond for some hands-on fishing experience.
All equipment will be supplied. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Under 10 years of age, must be working directly with an adult. Cost – $10 per family
Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center
State trout hatchery visitor center offers exhibits and self-guided tour. Hiking trails on wildlife management area. 4000-acre tract is open to hunting and fishing. Pequest River is trout-stocked; angler parking area at Rt. 46 entrance.
