Free Lecture at Rutherfurd Hall: Surviving Sandy: Long Beach Island and the Greatest Storm of the Jersey Shore

Wednesday, April 18, 2018 - 7:00pm

Scott Mazzella, award-winning author of Surviving Sandy: Long Beach Island and the Greatest Storm of the Jersey Shore, will talk about his book and experiences while capturing this epic storm. Copies of his book will be available for sale. After the lecture, Scott will be available to sign your book.

Surviving Sandy: Long Beach Island and the Greatest Storm of the Jersey Shore, by Scott Mazzella, won twice as many honors as any other book in the competition. A coffee-table artbook, Jersey Shore Impressionists: The Fascination of Sun and Sea, 1880-1940, also brought honors home. Both titles were published last year by Down The Shore, in the wake of the storm.

“A historical narrative that takes readers from the storm’s inception through the destructive blow of its tidal surge… through the recovery and into the aftermath, Surviving Sandy is unlike any other book of its kind.” - The Sandpaper.
