Explore the growth of the Patent Medicine Industry during the Victorian Era. In the last half of the 1800s, a wide variety of medical concoctions were marketed to the public. Some were ineffective, some were dangerous or addictive, and some have survived the modern day. Learn about how and why the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) was created to rein in some of the excesses of the industry. Magic will be used to demonstrate some of the deceptions used by traveling medicine shows! This program is being offered in recognition of Warren County's Bicentennial celebration. Register online!
Northeast Branch Branch Library
The Northeast Branch first opened in February of 1993. In November 2009, the Warren County Freeholders purchased the Best Fruit Farm Building as the future home of the branch. After a year of renovations, in May 2011, staff and a group of 153 volunteers moved the branch to our new location.
