
This special Saturday program will focus on pollinators and their importance in the ecosystem - as well as the perils they face. Endangered and Nongame Species Program biologist Rob Somes will conduct the program and highlight pollinator conservation on state lands and provide some butterfly gardening information. Attendees can participate in a "bee hut" building activity following the presentation. Sponsored by the Mansfield Twp. Environmental Commission and funded with an open space stewardship grant from the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions.

Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center
State trout hatchery visitor center offers exhibits and self-guided tour. Hiking trails on wildlife management area. 4000-acre tract is open to hunting and fishing. Pequest River is trout-stocked; angler parking area at Rt. 46 entrance.
