The Musconetcong Watershed Association is hosting this informational session regarding the PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, contamination case in Washington Township. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is investigating contamination from several industrial sources around Route 31 and Rymon Road in Washington Township, NJ. In November 2024, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection requested that the EPA take over the investigation of the site due to high levels of PFAS in groundwater and soil.
The MWA will cover half the cost of a PFAS well test to the first 10 residents who sign up for this River Talk. The MWA is partnering with Garden State Labs to offer PFAS well testing for residents who live just outside of the EPA's initial focus area. We will contact you if you are one of the first 10 to register.
