5th Annual Steampunk Fair Bigger Than Ever

This year's Rock & Roll Steampunk Fair in Downtown Washington Borough Saturday, April 26 from 10am – 7pm, will be the biggest one yet. With over 70 vendors and an eclectic live music lineup featuring the hugely popular headlining band, This Way to the Egress, you won't want to miss the region's one-of-a-kind event.

The Fair combines the steam-powered Victorian Era energy of the classic science fiction genre with a punk and rock ‘n’ roll feel that makes for an amazing day of retro-futuristic fun. This truly unique event draws visitors from across the region with attendees dressed in “steampunk attire,”  folks have a chance to participate in unique games, assorted activities, taste dishes from various food trucks and local eateries and jam out to live music.

“There isn't another event in the area like this one,” said Melanie Thiel, Executive Director of the Washington Business Improvement District. “It's totally unique to Warren County. You can participate in many of the activities, get dressed up, or just come and enjoy the music and activities and people watch!"

Amazing vendors like Captain Willoby’s Emporium, displaying handmade themed clothing for men and women with inclusive sizing and Into Leather, handmade leather goods and accessories will line the streets. Incredible street performers including stilt walker Cheryl Schruefer, Lady Gypsy of Professional Monstrosity Sideshow, The NJ Belly Dancers and Phonofiddler Keith Engle will be entertaining all who pass by.

There will also be interactive demonstrations with The Museum of Interesting Things, NW New Jersey Tarot, giving professional tarot readings and a complimentary steampunk photo booth. Kids of all ages can grab a free make and take craft or enjoy hands on activities, as well as face painting with Zella Bella Gaggle of Giggles. Many downtown businesses will add to the flavor of the day with special sales.

Live music continues throughout the day with Durty Rotten Parrots, Puppy Grease and Dust Bowl Faeries. A Halo Called Fred will be at the after party hosted by Buttzville Brewing Company. 
  
Happening rain or shine, everyone is invited, whether you “dress the part” or choose your own ensemble. This is a free family-friendly event in the Veteran’s Park vicinity along Route 57.

The Washington Rock ‘n’ Roll and Steampunk Fair is presented by Washington Business Improvement District, a non-profit organization that highlights local businesses in the Borough.
