Ramsaysburg Summer Concerts are Back!

The iconic Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead, with its expansive Riverside Amphitheater, is hosting another summer concert series, starting Saturday, June 27. This summer’s line-up includes the Peter Karp Band, The James Maddock Band and the Noble Brothers Band with Jesse Bardwell. All concerts begin at 4pm.

Peter Karp, considered one of the finest contemporary singer/songwriters of Americana and blues/roots music, opens the series June 27 at 4pm. Karp has carved out his own unique niche, and has a reputation as a forceful singer, a searing guitarist, powerhouse pianist and a passionate performer, writing with an unmistakable lyrical style that reflects tales of life’s journey. Spawned by passion and personal experience, blues, folk, Americana, and rock and roll all find common ground within his musical bag. His propensity for dynamic performances have made him a remarkably rare talent in American roots music.

The James Maddock Band rolls into town July 18, as the British-born singer/songwriter and rock & roll lifer, has been carving his path since the 1980s with a raw, soulful voice, with a storyteller’s sense of narrative, and the ability to blur the lines between folk, classic pop, and rock. Since those early days in London, Maddock has ridden the wave of a music industry and has stayed afloat throughout the entire ride. He also enjoyed a brush with commercial success during the late 1990s, including a major-label record deal, a Top 5 AAA radio hit, and a song placement on Dawson’s Creek, all before transforming himself into an independent solo artist during the decades that followed.

Regional favorites, the Noble Brothers Band, join forces with Jesse Bardwell for the grand final concert performance September 19. The Noble Brothers Band features Harry Noble, Bob Noble, Matt DiPaolo and Amir Mortezai.
With an innate calling to music, Jesse Bardwell began his career in 2005 as cofounder of the Quimby Mountain Band which gained regional acclaim, opening for well-established national acts such as Railroad Earth, Keller Williams, Marshall Tucker Band, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Foghat and many others.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets and coolers. Pets on leashes are permitted. Parking is limited, so please arrive early.

Gates open one hour before the 4pm show time. The concerts are held between the 200-year-old barn and the Delaware River, part of a twelve-acre historical park. Check each listing for rain dates if they have been scheduled. There will be a suggested donation of $10 per person.

The concerts are presented by The Friends of Ramsaysburg, a group of volunteers who dedicate countless hours to produce each event and are made possible with generous support from the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Division of the Department of Land Preservation, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
