Sunprinting and Songbirds at White Lake

Sunday, September 27, 2026 -
10:00am to 12:30pm

Join Park Naturalist Liv for a morning of art in the park and a songbird search at beautiful White Lake Natural Resource Area.

The morning will start with sunprinting using a technique called Anthotyping, creating ink from natural products and using the power of the sun and plants to create interesting and unique pieces of nature-themed art. Paper and necessary supplies will be provided, though partcipants are welcome to bring medias like cotton or linen fabric shirts/pants/bags.

While the sun goes to work on the prints, take a walk around the meadows and forests of White Lake Natural Resource Area. Many birds like songbirds and raptors will be starting their migratory journeys to their winter destinations, so it will be a great time to do a little birding. Bring binoculars or borrow a pair.

This event is open to all ages, though younger children will require supervision.
