The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area provides year-round recreational opportunities, however, visitor services and maintenance operations are reduced during the winter months when staffing levels and visitation are at their lowest, which includes the closure of some roads and visitor use sites along with reduced maintenance at others. Closures go into effect on January 2, 2025, or at the first significant snowfall. Most sites will re-open on April 15, while others will re-open in May.
Charles Dickens' classic story, A Christmas Carol, comes to life as the Holiday Spectacular at Centenary Stage Company. Running through December 15, this story follows miserly businessman Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, leading him to confront his actions and transform his life.
Centenary Stage Company kicks off the 2024 Fringe Festival lineup with Dr. Glas, Nov. 7 - 10, followed by My Buddy, Nov. 14 - 17 and Courage, Nov. 21 - 24. All Thursday evening performances feature “Buy One Get One” tickets starting at 5:30 pm in person.
Both beloved and bloodcurdling, "Dracula" is a tale of good versus evil, opening October 26 - 27 and November 1 - 3 at Country Gate Players. This tale closely follows the 1897 novel as the play begins with the insane-asylum resident, Renfield (Cullen Delmore) dining upon various living creatures in his cell. Acting as a narrator of sorts and a pawn to Dracula (Brian Lisa), Renfield assists Dracula in various plots to capture unsuspecting victims.

Just in time for the Halloween season, Centenary Stage Company opens their 2024-2025 Professional Theatre Series with The Weir, October 4 - 20. The story is set in a Sligo, Ireland bar, a place the local men come to swap spooky stories. Their attempt to impress a young Dublin woman who’s recently moved into a nearby "haunted" house is foiled as she tells her own haunted tale. A preview matinee happens Friday, October 4 at 2pm and features $10 tickets for Hackettstown Residents with proof of address at the door.
