Warren County Wanderings

Up, Up and Away Through June 14

“June is the time for dreams to take flight and soar into reality.” - Emma Racine de Fleur

We’re feeling the summer vibes, and whether you take flight, metaphorically or literally, check out this weekend's Hot Air Balloons, Arts & Crafts Festival in Washington! This is the first balloon fest of the year and we send congratulations to Barbara L., Kristen E. and Janet C., who each won complimentary admission to the festival by the carload! We wish them a great day taking in the show, vendors, games and food trucks!

The Blairstown Diner and Camp No-Be-Bosco are heating up the summer with all things Friday the 13th including fan film nights, tours and everything the cult classical fan loves about the original.

Belvidere is getting in on the action with the return of Found Fest Block Parties hosted by FOUND, The Art of Home. Live summer music will be taking place at various venues and shops in town through October. And don’t miss the Goblin Market at King’s Gambit Coffee this Sunday, June 7.

Washington Borough kicks off its Farmers' Market June 13, with the Sustainably Green Music and Arts Festival. Enjoy live music and activities, even things for the kids to do while you browse the vendors.

Czig Meister is celebrating 10 years as a Hackettstown brewery with an X Marks the Spot pirate theme party. Everyone is welcome to enjoy live music, vendors, food and great brews.

As always, live music continues all over Warren County, including The Arts at St. Luke's featuring Jesse Bardwell and The Noble Brothers June 13.

And on an historical note, June 11 marks the 285th anniversary of the birth of Warren County's namesake, Dr. Joseph Warren, an important early figure in our nation's fight for independence. He died in the Battle of Bunker Hill just six days after his 34th birthday, and our county was named for this martyr of the Revolution 50 years later. With the celebration of our nation's 250th in full swing, don't miss Warren County's outdoor concert with patriotic music on June 20, which is found in the Plan Ahead section below.

Happy June and Happy Wanderings!
