Get your brooms fired up and dust off your pointy hats for the witching hour has come! Too much? With Halloween around the corner, Centenary Stage Company presents “My Witch,” a look into Margaret Hamilton's life, best known for her portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West in the ‘Wizard of Oz.’ The show opens Thursday, October 20 and runs to October 30.

The New Jersey Highlands Coalition (NJHC) invites community members to explore our region’s most scenic byways during its Fall Car Trek. Industrial Archaeology is the theme, and the route will highlight the rich industrial history of Warren and Hunterdon Counties. The route includes sites in Hackettstown (Mars Wrigley, Centenary University and the former Hackettstown Fish Hatchery), Mansfield (Rockport Train Wreck Memorial) and Port Murray (Morris Canal). After crossing into Hunterdon, the route later reenters Warren County to drive through Warren Glen (Musconetcong Gorge area) and Pohatcong (site of former Finesville Dam).

UACNJ Saturday Astronomy Talks 2022

This is the last live presentation of the year for UACNJ. Halloween costumes are encouraged! UACNJ provides free public programs at the astronomy club in Jenny Jump State Forest from April through October on Saturday evenings. The live presentation is followed by stargazing on the club's telescopes until 10:30 PM, weather permitting. This week's talk is "The Universe Can Be a Scary Place!"

Drive-Thru Roast Beef Dinner at Buttzville UMC

Take-out only Roast Beef dinner with assorted desserts. $16 per meal. Please drive in the back (cemetery entrance) to payment station, then proceed to the take-out window where a runner will bring your to-go bags to your vehicle.

LocalShare Volunteering Opportunities

Check out these opportunities through October. LocalShare, a program of the Foodshed Alliance, connects local farms’ surplus fruits & veggies to feed the hungry families. With volunteer help, the Foodshed works together to glean produce from local farms, distribute the food for free to local food pantries, and collaborate with other hunger organizations to host free produce markets in Warren County and beyond. Anyone can volunteer!

Golf Scramble & BBQ

Hosted by Buttzville United Methodist Church to benefit missions and local charities. A day of golf includes Snack Shack on the course and BBQ dinner. Registration begins at 11am. Shotgun start for 18 holes will be 12 noon; the nine hole course begins at 1:30pm. BBQ Dinner at 3:30pm. Various levels to support/participate, starting at $50 for dinner only. DASACC 5th Annual Safer in Warren Dog Walk

In continuing to acknowledge all survivors of domestic abuse, and in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, DASACC is hosting its 5th Annual Safer in Warren County Dog Walk to bring awareness to the custom-built animal kennels, installed in August of 2019, that provide safe housing for pets whose owners are domestic violence survivors.

34th Ole Towne Festival in Phillipsburg

Celebrate the town of Phillipsburg! This festival boasts entertainment for all ages, a classic car cruise, community farmers market, free miniature train rides and more at Shappell Park. Children's activities, local vendors, food trucks, amusements, tethered hot air balloon rides, pony rides and more and concludes with a fireworks display.

Self-Guided Explore Warren History Trail

Explore Shippen Manor, Blair's Town, Oxford Furnace, the Morris Canal and many more historic sites throughout Warren County. This is a free self-guided, county-wide driving tour, where you can visit one or multiple sites at your own pace each day. Sites in the county's northern region will be hosting visitors on Saturday, 11/4; and the southern destinations will be open on Sunday, 11/5. Each site will have a docent on hand to convey the history of the location, and some sites will host demonstrations and festival activities.
