Centenary Young Performers Workshop: Blood Brothers
The YPW 2018 Summer Festival of Shows, which features young performers between the ages of 8 and 18 staging five different shows over 10 days, kicks off with Willy Russell's Blood Brothers, which tells the story of fraternal twins separated at birth. One brother is raised in a family of great privilege, the other in poverty. Even with their different socioeconomic backgrounds, the two boys end up becoming best friends -- until a misunderstanding leads to a tragic end.

2018 Tour de Blairstown

Next up in the YPW 2018 Summer Festival of Shows, A Year with Frog and Toad, based on Arnold Lobel's beloved children's books, is a whimsical musical that tells the story of two best friends: the cheerful Frog, and curmudgeonly Toad. The musical follows Frog and Toad through four colorful seasons, from hibernation to hibernation.

Shippen Manor Lawn Concert - Poor Man's Gambit
A trio of traditional artists comprised of Corey Purcell (button accordion, cittern, vocals, bodhran, dance), Dylan Richardson (guitar, tenor banjo, bouzouki, vocals), and Genevieve Gillespie (fiddle, vocals, dance), they were all raised in the US but brought up on the traditional music of Ireland. In fact, the band's roots can be traced to the early '90s when Gillespie and Purcell met in Irish dance class at the age of five. Their repertoire also is influenced by traditional music of other cultures including France, Scotland, England, and America.

Summer Reading at the Library
Reading over the summer helps kids be better prepared for school in the fall by avoiding the "summer slide" and perform better in school overall. There are programs for babies and toddlers, kids, teens, and adults. In addition to reading to earn prizes there are lots of great programs scheduled.
Warren County Farmers' Fair & Hot Air Balloon Festival
Celebrating its 81st year of providing affordable family fun, the Farmers' Fair continues through Saturday, featuring the Hot Air Balloon Festival and the 21st Annual Traditional Arts Expo as well. Highlights include carnival wrist band specials; motorized events (tractor pulls Wednesday and Thursday, Demolition Derby Sunday and Friday, and the unique Mud Bog events Saturday); a hay bale rolling contest; pro wrestling; music; Mass Hot Air Balloon Launches; and so much more!

River Rangers will develop an appreciation for the basic components necessary for sustainability, including use of water, shelter and food.
