Moms and More

"If at first you don't succeed, try doing it the way mom told you to in the beginning." - Unknown

Good advice! Cheers to all moms! If you’ve been waiting for the seasons to change, the time has come! With the freezing temps finally behind us (we hope), the calendar is heating up! Von Thun's Tulip Fest is open through May 10, as long as the blooms hold out, so keep checking their Facebook page for updates. The Highland Cow Experience is now open for of those you who want a one-on-one with Maise and Hope. Spots are open this weekend if you're looking for ideas to have fun time with Mom, like the two ladies featured in this issue's cover photo!

Speaking of Mother's Day, check out our Mom's Day page for more inspiration on ways to honor these special women in our lives.

Food trucks and farmers’ markets are making their way to a town near you. Tranquillity Farms Food Trucks nights are back every Thursday and alternating Tuesdays. You'll find Tiptons Tavern testing the waters with a new farmers’ market in their parking lot every Sunday. Hackettstown's West End Farm Market premiered last weekend.

And make a note that the Phillipsburg market is moving back to Shappell Park. Please know that South Main Street businesses remain open during the South Main Street bridge closure, and the Phillipsburg community would appreciate your business during Shop Small Business Week and in the foreseeable future as the detour continues to affect their locations.

Incidentally, CSA signups are available at a local farm near you!

Sign up for Blairstown's Fishing Derby May 16 or head out to Knowlton for a day of classic cars, live music, food, 50/50 raffle, activities and more.

And we’re just starting to scratch the surface of music, community days and other outdoor activities for your enjoyment.

Happy Mother's Day, and Happy Wanderings!
