23rd Annual Scenic Skylands Photo Contest

23rd Annual Scenic Skylands Photography Contest is sponsored by the Warren County Cultural & Heritage Commission. Open to students, amateurs and professionals, submitted photos must have been taken after October 1, 2017 and the subject matter should be a scenic view of the Skylands Region: Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, or Warren County in New Jersey. Over $2,200 in prize money will be awarded in this professionally judged show.

Images may be digital or traditional, color or black & white. The minimum photo size for all submissions is 8"x10”. All submitted photographs must be wired and ready to hang. No glass, saw tooth hangers, or easel frames accepted. Contestants may enter one photograph.

Student prizes are $150 First Place, $100 Second Place, $80 Third Place, and $70 Honorable Mention. The Amateur awards are $200 First Place, $150 Second Place, $100 Third Place, and $80 Honorable Mention. Professional awards are $300 First Place, $250 Second Place, $200 Third Place, and $150 Fourth Place. $400 will be awarded for Best of Show.

All entries must be clearly labeled on the back, lower right, with full contact information (include grade level for students), category of photo, title, and location of scene. Deliver photos and applications to the accessible Wayne Dumont Jr. Administration Building, 165 County Route 519 South, Belvidere, NJ on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 10am until noon. The show will open at the Administration Building on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, and will run through Tuesday, January 15, 2019 when all photos must be picked up between 10am and noon.

This photo contest is presented by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission, supported by the Warren County Freeholders, and funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Shippen Manor

Shippen Manor is a c.1754 iron master’s residence built by Dr. William Shippen, Sr. The Shippens were socially prominent members of a wealthy Philadelphia family. The museum offers guided tours on the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May to December, except on holidays.
