Phillipsburg kicks off the summer season by celebrating with its 32nd Annual Ole Town Festival in Shappell and Walters Parks in Phillipsburg. This festival, which initially began as a way for a variety of local non-profit organizations to make money in support of their causes, has grown into a summer tradition that simply cannot be missed. Both days will be jam-packed with festival favorites and fresh entertainment for attendees of all ages.
Day One: 6-9pm kick-off event on Friday, June 21 at Shappell Park features live music from the band Cunningham & Associates, a classic car cruise, community farmers market, free miniature train rides and more. This year, the Ole Towne Festival 5k will be held at Shappell Park and as a special treat, $100 cash prize goes to the 1st place overall. Day Two: Saturday, June 22 will offer extended hours at Walters Park with even more great entertainment for the family, with bands such as Bobby Clark Band, A Few Good Men, Large Flowerheads and Lucky 7, to satisfy all musical preferences. Check out children's activities, local vendors, food trucks, amusement activities, tethered hot air balloon rides, pony rides and more. There will also be a hot dog eating contest, free caricatures by Hal, Balloons the Clown, RJ the Magician, kids craft canopy and so much more. The evening will end with a traditional highly anticipated fireworks display.
