Hard-working and fascinating honeybees are responsible for pollinating one third of the food that we eat, produce the delicious and nutritious substance that we call honey and are currently dying out in alarming numbers. Why are bees important, what is threatening them and how can you help? Listen and learn from the experts; the basics of how to begin and care for your own colony and reap the sweet reward—honey! Presenters Mim and Tim Dunne are owners of Woodsedge Tree Farm in White Township where they raise Christmas trees and honey bees. They have been beekeepers since 1980 and currently have about 15 colonies of bees. They are active members of the Northwest Branch of the NJ Beekeepers Association.
