Day Out With Thomas is a family event that offers children and their grownups the opportunity to ride with classic storybook friend Thomas the Tank Engine. Parents, grandparents and siblings join their aspiring engineers in the fun. The Day Out With Thomas experience will engineer miles of smiles for the whole family and introduce a new generation to the timeless excitement of railroading.
There is so much to do you can spend the whole day! Enjoy our two inflatables: a 40-foot inflatable obstacle course and an inflatable MOO Cow! In the Imagination Station enjoy Thomas coloring, Thomas and Friends Stamps, temporary tattoos, Mega Blocks, Thomas Videos, Story Telling, Spin Art, meet and Greet with Sir Topham Hat and a petting Zoo! Also, enjoy the amazing Juggler Jeff Peden, Ventriloquist Scott Wagstaff & His Zany Animals, and the Grand Master Band Wagon.
The train pulled by Thomas leaves every hour on the hour, 10am to 5pm, for a 25-minute ride along the beautiful Delaware River to North Carpentersville.
You may also ride the River Train pulled by Steam Locomotive #142 further along the same route to Edingers with a brief stop at the "Old Susquehanna" gem stone mine. At the mine you may get off, visit the mine and learn how to pan for gems. Each passenger receives a bag of mine tilings, a brief history of the mine and use of the sluice to prospect for their very own gem stones they can bring home!
You may also purchase tickets the day of the event for all trains although we advise that you purchase your tickets in advance. Trains to and from the mine depart every hour. Stay at the mine as little as an hour or as long as you like!
Thomas trips leave 10am, 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm. Adult & Child $21.00, full site access all events included. Mine Train is extra.
Thomas train ride is 25 Minutes, each child receives a Jr. Engineer Certificate.
Mine Train trip is 2 hours in duration, 30 minutes in each direction and one hour mining for gems at the mine.
Delaware River Railroad Excursions
The Delaware River Railroad Excursions include the Great Pumpkin Train Ride, Warren County Winery Train, Mine Train and other special events each weekend. The train is operated by the New York Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society.
