Don Kincaid and The Wait w/ AJ Croix and The Devils Right Hand Band at Roy's Hall

Don Kincaid and the Wait have Texas in their heart. Don honed his songwriting craft in the Hill Country of Texas and at picking circles in the state’s iconic town of Luckenbach. When it came time to make an album from his latest batch of songs, he traveled back east to his home state of New Jersey and gathered a formidable group of musicians who he counts as some of his oldest friends. In the process, they wrote some more songs together and recorded an album that they love. With the album completed, they formed The Wait to take the album on the road and the music into the future.

Their Americana Alt-Country style draws from their outlaw country heroes such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, but with a modern feel that will appeal to fans of current alt-country artists such as Jamey Johnson, Ryan Adams, or Sturgill Simpson. The songs range from energetic alt-country rock to touching story-telling ballads, with painterly lyrics delivered in a baritone that would make Johnny proud.

AJ Croix has hit the road more than once and is still going. In support of the latest album release, the road has taken him to Nashville , TN and the legendary Blue Bird Cafe, Back to NJ where he opened for James McMurtry, to PA where he opened for The Bodeans and to Fort Worth,Texas, to share the stage with Ray Reed, a former sharecropper and living legend that played bass for the immortal Freddie King. Mixing Rock n’ Roll with Alt Country and Americana, you get songs that speak of rebellion, salvation and the optimism that could only come from one’s true-life experiences. Music and storytelling that will take you on a adventures down the backroads of America.
