Did you know that dragons exist in New Jersey? And Damsels are rarely in distress, but often the cause of distress to other insects? Dragonflies and Damselflies are some of the most fascinating insects in the world, and Warren County is home to many of these incredible species!
Explore the meadows of White Lake and discover an insect world filled with ruthless battles, stunning feats of flight, and competitive courtship. Park Naturalist Liv will introduce participants to the local species of damselfly and dragonfly as well as their fascinating life histories over a 1.5 mile walk around the meadows of White Lake Natural Resource Area.
The walk will include mowed grass, dirt and rocky trails, and some points of incline/decline, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing comfortable for movement and bring water. All ages are welcome!
White Lake Natural Resource Area
The White Lake Natural Resource Area is a beautiful 441-acre preserve located in Hardwick Township. The park’s most notable feature, White Lake, is a deep 69-acre spring-fed water body.
