Famous Fakes and Forgeries

Saturday, June 29, 2019 - 1:00pm

A hands-on program, where YOU are the Autograph Detective! Join international autograph and manuscript expert, Brian Kathenes, for an exciting afternoon of intrigue and hands-on investigation. You’ll hold and inspect original manuscripts, 17th, 18th, and 19th century documents and rare books - along with some famous fakes and forgeries - and use the tools the forensic experts use to determine the authenticity of rare documents and historic letters. Bring the kids. They make the BEST detectives.

Abraham Lincoln, Babe Ruth, Lord Byron, Neil Armstrong, Elvis Presley, John F. Kennedy, or Marilyn Monroe may be the subject of your investigation.

Brian will share some of his fascinating stories, as you participate in this lively, interactive afternoon of fun, discovery, and “sleuthiness.”

Brian Kathenes was an expert witness in the Nixon Watergate Papers case. He provides his autograph expertise for the FBI, US Marshals Service, US Customs & Border Protection, and Homeland Security Investigations. His appraisal clients include NASA Astronauts, Grammy Award Winners, US Presidents, and Nobel Prize Recipients.
