Join Rutherfurd Hall in welcoming the Professors of Centenary University as they speak about what they know best! These are FREE LECTURES on a wide range of topics, made possible by the generous funding from the House of the Good Shepherd.
Emilia Phillips, Assistant Professor of Creative Writing, will discuss "It's Alive: Why Poetry Still Matters in the 21st Century" on November 16. She will discuss the ways in which poetry is still relevant to 21st century Americans and why it should be read; why we think poetry is hard and how its challenge can benefit our brains and cultivate empathy.
Most lectures are held on a Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Each lecture will last about an hour, followed by a Q & A session along with tea and light snacks.
