It’s mermaid season and the Belvidere Community Pool is excited to have Mermaid Sandy for mermaid lessons. One of the more popular and fun toys this summer are swimmable mermaid tails that can be dangerous if a child doesn’t know how to swim in them correctly. Swimmable mermaid tails can reduce your child’s ability to swim by up to 70%, dramatically increasing chances of drowning.
Mermaid Sandy will teach your child how to safely swim in their tails, do tricks and how to embody the Mermaid persona. Each class is $25 for a 30 minute class and will have a maximum of 6 participants per group. Each mermaid should bring their own tale with them to class. Potential mermaids should be able to doggy paddle the short length of the pool and tread water for 30 seconds to register for this class.
Mermaid Sandy received her training at her previous job as a mermaid for Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle beach as well as having my NAUI Master Diver Certification.
