Warren County ARTS has started doing art exhibits at the Oxford Municipal Gallery in the Oxford Municipal Building again, after the revolving exhibits stopped in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first show for 2022 is the “Musconetcong Watercolor Invitational”.

This group was named for 20 artists who started to meet weekly in 2009 at a 19th century gristmill overlooking the Musconetcong River near Hampton, NJ. The gristmill is the home and studio of Doris Ettlinger, watercolorist, teacher and illustrator of many children’s books. Doris shares her knowledge of watercolor techniques and color theory. Members get one-on-one instructions. Class participants offer encouragement and feedback to one another.  The members include all levels of art experience.

Members have come and gone over the years.  Last year due to COVID some classes were held virtually or onsite in accordance to health guidelines. All the artists agree that being able to meeting via Zoom has provided a bright spot.

To see more of the group’s work, visit their Musconetcong Watercolor Group Facebook page.  To inquire about classes, visit www.DorisEttlinger.com.

This exhibit run now until March 26th and can be viewed Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-4:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 11 Green Street, Oxford, NJ.  It is best to call ahead to make sure the building is open. That number is 908-453-2098 X201.
