About the Speaker: Corey Tierney serves as the Director of Land Preservation Department for Warren County, where he strives to protect the area’s natural and cultural resources, while also promoting sustainable economic growth throughout the County. In this role, over the past 10 years, he formalized the Warren County park system, expanding it to include 10 parks that cover over 2,300 acres, and created the Warren County Parks Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to support the fledgling park system. Corey has also grown the county’s farmland preservation program to include 313 farms comprising 27,278 acres and overseen dozens of Right-To-Farm matters. In addition, he has administered dozens of grants totaling nearly $9.5 million to local groups and municipalities for their historic preservation projects, such as the Asbury Gristmill, Hoff-Vannatta Farmstead, Ramsaysburg Homestead, Rutherfurd Hall, Vass House, and others.

Born and raised in northwest New Jersey, Corey graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University and cum laude from Widener University School of Law. An attorney, he also teaches courses in business, law, and government at Warren County Community College where he is a Senior Adjunct Instructor.
