Even though winter solstice is near, our meadow is full of life. Before we go into winter dormancy, join us for a walk through our native meadow. Learn about meadows in dormancy, signs of life in winter, and meet fellow native plant lovers.
Juncos, white-throated sparrows, and song sparrows work through the meadow, harvesting seeds. Inside dried stalks of wildflowers and grasses, wild insects or their eggs rest. Evergreen basal rosettes of goldenrod patiently await a blanket of snow. Above, red tailed hawks and ravens crisscross the sky. Just as the plants and wild creatures, our entire way of life has changed as we enter the winter. Register for this free program.
