Ken Dispoto aka "The Santa Carver" will be at the farm doing a carving demonstration and selling his wares.
Dispoto, of Hopatcong, NJ, is a Santa collector and self-taught "Santa carver". He has been carving Santa characters and other Christmas related pieces since 1989. Carving Santas was the perfect fit for Ken because it combined the love he’s had since childhood of working with wood, and he and his wife’s affection for Christmas. “One day, after seeing a simple small carved wooden Santa on a shelf at a friend’s house, it occurred to me...'I can do that.' Not long after that day, I got myself a basic carving knife (which I still use to this day), a piece a basswood and a Santa carving book. I haven't stopped whittling these little guys since,” Dispoto says.
