Docents will be available to greet visitors and share the history of the Manor, its people, and the local industrial history of Oxford. We are offering tours of the main floor of the building. The last tour begins at 3:30pm.
There is no admission to the museum. This is a family-friendly historic site. Limited accessible parking available on site.

Today’s “On the Daily” is our second installment of “Laundry Day”, a presentation and demonstration about how women did the laundry in the 18th c. from making their own soap, hauling water, and even about their personal hygiene practices.
Sun., October 8
This Sunday is “Food Preservation” in which our docent will discuss the processes of drying, pickling, and smoking food, butchering of meat for jerky and sausage as well as the use of spring and smoke houses.
Please enter through the door on the lower porch. Doors will close at 4 p.m.
There is limited parking at Shippen. If the lots are filled, please park in town and walk over.

Shippen Manor
Shippen Manor is a c.1754 iron master’s residence built by Dr. William Shippen, Sr. The Shippens were socially prominent members of a wealthy Philadelphia family. The museum offers guided tours on the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May to December, except on holidays.
