WCArts Film Presentation: Feathers and Fur

George L. Johnson, naturalist and photographer, will present  Feathers and Fur, his 60-minute film that features the wildlife of northern NJ. The changing season of the “Big Spring” in Whittingham’s Swamp provide the setting for this wildlife adventure. The film traverses the seasons from spring, through summer, fall, winter and on to the next June.

Mr.  Johnson is a native of New Jersey and grew up in the small town of Newton, Sussex County. He started filming nature in 8mm film at the age of 15 and now has nine full color, 16 mm. films, 60 to 90 minutes in length, dealing with the ecology of many environments - from the watery swamps of Florida to the mountain ranges of Alaska and Africa; from the scoured landscapes of Hudson Bay to the canyons of Colorado. Mr. Johnson and has produced nature stories that will appeal to both the layman and the biologist. He presents programs to many schools,, civic and nature organizations. George also carves birds which are painted by his wife Posie.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 13th in the Oxford Township Municipal building, 11 Green Street, Oxford, NJ 07863.  The public is welcome, refreshments will be served. A $2 fee is assessed for non members.
