Poet and essayist Emilia Phillips is the featured guest as the Warren County Community College Visiting Authors Series continues. Phillips will do a reading and is also scheduled to teach a master class earlier in the day.
The reading, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in room 123A, is free and open to the public.
Phillips is the author of two poetry collections from the University of Akron Press, Groundspeed (2016) and Signaletics (2013), and three chapbooks. Her poetry and lyric essays appear in Agni, Boston Review, The Kenyon Review, New England Review, Ninth Letter, Ploughshares, Poetry, and elsewhere. She is the recipient of the 2015 Nonfiction Prize from StoryQuarterly and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, The Kenyon Review Writers’ Workshop, Vermont Studio Center, and elsewhere. She is the Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Centenary University, the founder of OFFSET: A Poetry Broadside Digitization Project, and a blogger for Ploughshares.

The evening reading will be followed by a brief Q & A with the audience and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the reading.
The WCCC Visiting Authors Series is supported by a grant from the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission. All facilities comply with ADA regulations and are fully accessible. Sign language interpreters are available with two weeks’ notice.
