Warren County Senior Show Winners Announced

Friendly competition had Warren County’s Senior Artists crossing their brushes, pencils, and cameras in the annual Warren County Senior Art Show. Blue Ribbon winners of this show will represent the County of Warren at the 52nd Annual New Jersey State show in East Windsor, NJ during October.

Professional division winners are: Oil Painting: First Place was won by Duane Alpaugh of Washington. Photography First Place winner is Carol Southerland from White Township and the Pastel First Place winner is Pat Olds of Washington.

The Non-Professional division winners are: Acrylic First Place winner Karen Hoffman from Phillipsburg, Durand Metrione and Arlene Metrione from Hackettstown with Second and Third Places respectively, and Shirley Spangler of Belvidere with an Honorable Mention. The Digital Arts Category saw the Blue Ribbon go to Bob Baker of Hackettstown. The Oil Paint category saw Ed Palmer of Hackettstown winning the First Place Blue Ribbon while Second Place went to John Wolverton from Washington.

The Photography competition resulted in a First Place for William McMyne from Blairstown. Winning the Second Place Blue Ribbon was Linda Aller of Washington with Jude Griffith of Stewartsville taking Third Place.

Judith Widenor of Washington led the pack with a First Place Blue Ribbon in Watercolor, followed closely by Peggy Richards of Oxford in Second Place, Rebecca Tonjes of Blairstown in Third Place, and Dinah Rush from Harmony and Susan Goran of Port Murray each with an Honorable Mention.

The Blue Ribbon Winners will be entered in the Annual State Show in East Windsor in October providing they meet the regulations of the State Show. Together these art works present a commanding presence at the Administration Building’s Hall Gallery.

These fine art works may be viewed at the accessible Wayne Dumont Jr. Administration Building located at 165 County Route 519 South, Belvidere, New Jersey during regular business hours until June 26 when the show will be taken down.

This show is co-sponsored by the Warren County Division of Aging and Disability Services and the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission, supported by the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and funded in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Warren County's Blue Ribbon winning art works will be entered in the 52nd Annual New Jersey State Senior Citizens Annual Juried Art Contest and Exhibition. The State exhibition is co-ordinated by Mercer County’s Division of Culture & Heritage and Office on Aging and hosted by Meadow Lakes Senior Living in East Windsor at Meadow Lakes, 300 Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ.
