Opening Reception for Hope artists John Hovell & Christine L. Rusin

Friday, November 12, 2021 -
5:30pm to 8:00pm

Celebrate the work of two of Hope's notable artists, each of whom has a body of work well worth seeing. This reception will be followed by a 10-day showing of their work in the upstairs Gallery.

PS: Brian Kathenes and his banjo will be providing musical ambiance. How's that for  ideal accompaniment, as well as some warm mulled cider and something good to nibble on?

The Artists:

John Hovell is  a graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia, He counts his true vocation and identity as an Illustrator and his many clients in the world of publishing and advertising would attest to that, as well.  His work has appeared in  major ad campaigns and national newspapers such The NY Times and The Wall Journal. His illustrations have been featured in text books and children's literature produced by Houghton Mifflin. John's artistic philosophy allows him to keep an open eye and respond to a variety of subjects from the urban to the pastoral.  A lifelong native of New Jersey, he's inspired by the palette of the Garden State.

Christine L. Rusin is an award-winning artist. Owner of Parashoot Productions, a video production company, she is a film maker, a writer, a published poet and a photographer.  Her work has been published in Nat Geo Tourism, Spotlight Magazine, American Cemetery and Skylands Visitor, to name a few.. Her sold-out show, Luminosity! Images of Light, Dark and Shadow illustrated the diversity of her photographic talents. Her new book, "Finding the Light - Hope, New Jersey" showcases the scenic beauty of Hope Township.
