Young Audience Series: Shake It Up Shakespeare: Magic, Mystery & Mayhem

A CELEBRATION OF THE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE! The Centenary Stage Company continues its tradition of bringing exciting theater to the youth of Northwest New Jersey and beyond with its Young Audience Series. 

Shake it Up Shakespeare:  Magic, Mystery & Mayhem is a piece of theatre magic for grades 4 and up covering some of his most famous works in an interactive and animated format. Audiences can marvel at the magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, explore the mystery of the infamous Macbeth, and experience the mayhem of Romeo and Juliet. This show simplifies Shakespearean language in a way that all audiences can understand and exhibits exciting performance techniques in stage combat and classic slapstick comedy that were used in Elizabethan times and are still in practice today.Take a journey through some of the bard’s greatest works and characters in this interactive performance, engaging young audiences and introducing a new way to look at Shakespeare! With scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, including comedy and action-packed sword fights!

Appropriate for Middle School and High School, Shake it Up Shakespeare:  Magic, Mystery & Mayhem is a program of Centenary Stage Company’s Young Audience Series.  CSC’s Young Audience Series is presented by Centenary College Theater Department’s NextStage Repertory in collaboration with Centenary Stage Company.

Tickets for are $12.50 for adults and $10 for children under 12.  All ticket sales are final.
