The Clown is the story of Mumbles, a shy clown, who falls in love with the beautiful ballerina, Doria. When Dr. Tutto, the jealous circus owner discovers this, he frames Mumbles with the theft of the circus money box, and Mumbles is banished. THE CLOWN is presented through the Robert A. Centenary Stage Company’s Young Performers (talented young thespians between the ages of 8 and 18) present their annual Spring Festival of Shows May 24 through June 2. Hailed as a “state treasure” by Peter Filichia of the Star Ledger and bringing in youth from Morris, Warren, Hunterdon and Sussex counties, Centenary Stage Company’s Young Performance Workshop is one of the few young actor training programs in the country that combines formal training with practical application.
This year’s anticipated Spring Festival of Shows will feature Grease, The Clown, Once Upon a Mattress and Count to Ten. All performances will be held on select dates in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary College at 400 Jefferson Street in Hackettstown.
