A selection of musical theatre favorites performed in repertory by the students of the Young Performers Workshop feature The Gifts of the Magi and Really Rosie. The Gifts of the Magi a heart-warming story set in New York at Christmas about two young lovers, Jim and Della. Both out of work and penniless, their dilemma is solved when their most precious possessions are sold in order to buy presents for each other creating an aura of warmth and giving in the cold, impersonal winter city.
Really Rosie features the sassiest kid on Brooklyn’s Avenue P, entertaining herself and her friends by acting out showbiz fantasies, notably directing and starring in an Oscar-winning movie. Written by the author and illustrator of Where the Wild Things Are and other popular children’s books, Really Rosie is a jewel for children and adults.
