A country fair, a film fest, and the every-popular Victorian Days (look for our Explore Warren tent!) are just a few of the offerings this first weekend after Labor Day (put away those white shoes!) plus there are lots of "Plan Ahead" events where you'll want to make sure you line up tickets now. Corn Maze Preview Days

Each year, the farm has a military-themed corn maze, and this year's 7-acre version depicts the workhorse of the Vietnam War, the Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter, better known as the Huey.  The farm has a special connection to the Huey - learn more in this YouTube video - and the corn maze is open Wednesday through Friday for Preview Days, where admission is by a donation that goes to charity assisting homeless veterans. Then Saturday and Sunday the maze officially opens with Bring Your Hero Days, where any youth ages 12 & under can bring their police officer, EMT or firefighter family member for free, with their own paid admission. (All Veterans are always free, so a youth accompanying a veteran will get in free!)

Warren County's two museums at Morris Canal sites are both open for the afternoon. Journey underground on a guided tour through the 165-foot tailrace tunnel into the turbine chamber, check ou new animation depicting how Plane 9 worked, and see other canal artifacts in the museum. Meanwhile, the Warren Heritage Museum at Bread Bread Lock Park also is open, featuring displays that interpret history along the Warren Heritage Scenic Byway. Shippen Manor, the restored 18th century iron master’s mansion, is located 1/4 mile west of the Route 31/Wall Street intersection in Oxford, on Belvidere Avenue.

Celebrate the new FRIDAY THE 13TH MUSEUM! The Official Ribbon Slashing Ceremony is 11am, with doors opening soon afterward. Tickets are required for special events throughout the day that mark the Northern Warren's area as as the setting of the original Friday the 13th film, including a Meet & Greet with Ari Lehman, the original Jason.

"Vengeance" Movie Premiere Experience

The Blairstown Museum proudly presents the premiere of Friday the 13th: Vengeance at Roy's Hall! Choose from two show times, plus every ticket holder will also experience a Meet & Greet with C.J. Graham, Jason Brooks, and Brandon "Buggzy" Wilson - complete with autographs, photo opportunity, and artifacts from the movie on display.

Friday the 13th The Original Movie at Roy's Hall

In 1979 filmmaker Sean S. Cunningham chose the area in and around scenic Blairstown as the location to film his low budget horror flick. When the movie debuted on May 9, 1980 it started a genre of filmmaking that has remained popular ever since. Celebrate this cult classic with screenings at Roy's Hall, which makes a cameo appearence in the movie.

Free Paper Shredding Service for Warren County Residents

Warren County's semiannual Paper Shredding event is a free service to Warren County residents (not for businesses, and proof of residency required). Bring your confidential/sensitive paper materials; any document that contains personal exclusive information.  Please limit the quantity to 4 bags or boxes weighing no more than 20 lbs. each. Staff will be available to unload documents.

“The Occasional Nature Warrior” at MWA

Wilderness survival skills can be relevant to anyone visiting New Jersey’s local parks and preserves. Campers will get useful suburban survival information like the common plant that treats a bee sting or how to keep calm when you think you’re lost. 

Forest Walk Meditation at White Lake

Fall Nature Walk at White Lake

Agripalooza and Tractorcade at VanNest-Hoff-Vannatta Farmstead

Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Warren County hosts an Agripalooza/Tractorcade at the historic Farmstead. Celebrate local agriculture with a Tractor Parade (starting 9am), tack sale, workshops and demonstrations, live animals, agricultural displays, live music and The Angry Chouriço BBQ food truck on site. Free admission!

Festival in the Borough

Northwest Jersey's largest street and music festival is back in Downtown Washington, with live music, vendors, kids fun area, food, beer garden, and more! Featuring national headliners Slambovian Circus of Dreams (pictured) and Yarn, and annual favorites JerZgirls and Southbound. Some of the other great acts include Trevor B. Power Band, The Emulators, The Bassboards, and Bulldog Mack Band. Festival in the Borough is free to attend and includes plenty of free parking. This event takes place rain or shine.
